A Level Revision

A Level Revision

This A Level Revision Course is a hybrid course of an Intensive Language Course and 1:1 lessons in classes with students 16+ of mixed nationalities.

We design this course package to complement A Level Spanish study and further deepen understanding of the language skills necessary to succeed at this standard and improve overall competence in Spanish with specific, personalised areas of study delivered through the 1:1 lessons.

Please note: This course does not focus on a particular exam board or the UK A Level specifically (apart from in the 1:1 lessons). This course, is however, appropriate for students taking A Level, Leaving Cert, IB, Highers, Finals or similar.

Location

Nicknamed Pearl of Andalucía, Sevilla is the fourth largest city in Spain and capital of the Andalusía region. Located in the South of Spain, the city sits on the Guadalquivir River and is often seen as the hottest part of Spain because of its low terrain and proximity to the Mediterranean coast. After Barcelona and Marid, Seville is the most visited city in Spain by tourists popular for its intricate Mudejar architecture including 3 UNESCO sites; Catedral de Sevilla, Archivo de Indias and Reales Alcázares de Sevilla. Alongside the picturesque buildings, Seville has a lively culture. The famous art form of flamenco originates in the Andalusía region and is still performed today at tablaos. The performance features strong guitar, expressive dancing and even singing! Traditionally, visitors will find that tapas plates are often complimentary with drinks purchased.

Language Course

The school is right in the middle of Seville’s old town; an extremely photogenic historical city centre. Visit the largest Gothic church, Seville Cathedral or the Royal Alcázar of Seville.

Experienced native teachers and fantastic cultural program make it an attractive place to visit and study, whether for pleasure, business, or to obtain an official exam qualification.

The course includes 20 lessons taught across Monday to Friday mornings. In addition there are 5 1:1 lessons int eh afternoon, you can use these lessons to discuss any topics that you personally want to challenge or solidify. You can also use these lessons to discuss topics that you are doing in your A Level or equivalent course.

Once your level of Spanish and class have been established you will be invited to purchase the text for your lessons at a cost of approximately €30. This will be available from the school on your first day.

Optional Social and Cultural Programme

The school offers a range of activities during the week, as well as longer full day excursions at the weekends. These are available for a charge and you can book through reception during your stay. You will be introduced to the activities as part of your induction on your first day.  These activities change weekly.

The school offers an award-winning programme, with the chance to get creative at writing and cinema workshops, discover the history of our city with expert guides on foot and by bike, experience Flamenco or Salasa shows and workshops or explore nearby areas like Ronda and Granada. There are also opportunities to sample food and drink from the region and take part in season-specific local celebrations such as the April Fair and Holy Week. There really is something for everyone.
