The vibrant city of Berlin is a fantastic place to study. With its incredible history, architecture and lively café culture, you will never be short of something to do or somewhere to explore.
Our partner Language School in Berlin is privileged in its location within the Prenzlauer Berg district of Berlin, an area known for its popular Sunday flea market, the Mauerpark and young professional crowd. The school is a 5 minute walk from reliable tram links into the city centre along the M2 and M4 lines. While attending this language school you will not only receive quality German teaching but you will get an authentic taste of Berlin life.
The language course comprises 20 lessons of 45 minutes length each, which concentrate on learning and actively using German. The school caters for students from beginner level to more advanced German speakers. The tuition is very much practice oriented, you will participate in group sessions alongside other students of a similar level, with lessons focused on improving all aspects of the language; speaking listening, reading and writing. There are 4 classes per day and these take place during the morning. Outside of lesson times there is a varied programme of leisure activities, visits and excursions to introduce you to German culture, sports and lifestyles.
You will be given a written and a speaking assessment on your first day before lessons in order to place you in the group most suited to your ability level. Classes have an international flavour and a lively feel because they are grouped by ability not nationality.
In Berlin there is a lot to see. From Monday to Friday, the afternoon leisure program consists of a combination of city exploration, museum visits, sports and entertainment. On Saturday, you will visit another nearby town and spend the whole day exploring there.
At the welcome meeting you will receive the weekly programme of activities, these include:
For students wanting to completely immerse themselves in the German language and culture we recommend that you stay with one of our carefully selected German hosts. They will not only introduce you to the German way of life and help you practise the German language but will also give you a taste of local and delicious regional specialities. Host Accommodation is situated in the Berlin area within good reach of the school by foot or U-bahn / S-bahn (underground/train).
Host Accommodation includes half-board catering (breakfast & evening meal) from the Sunday before your course starts to the Saturday after it finishes.
Subject to availability, an extra day on one side of your trip may be available on request to facilitate flight dates. A surcharge is payable for any extra nights.
You can read more about what it means to stay with a host in our Host Accommodation Guide.
* Please note that, unlike in France and Spain where families are vetted using the local equivalents of the UK DBS check, hosts in Germany are not required to undertake a police check. Hosts are stringently vetted by the accommodation officer attached to the language school and students’ reviews of hosts are used to inform the suitability of hosts for future use.
Residence accommodation is only available for students over 18 years old.
The school has a range of beautifully appointed single and twin, self-catering apartments. Apartments include a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and bedsheets.
The summer school staff ensure excellent supervision of all students so that you feel safe and secure. In the afternoon, you will visit the sights of Berlin together and at the weekends, explore the nearby small towns.
Return transfers from Berlin Brandenberg Aiport airport are included in this pacakge. Please advise us of your arrival time during your booking.

We were looking for a summer camp experience for our 17-year old daughter, in the middle of her A-levels and Blue Stamp absolutely fit the bill. The options available were superb, the booking process easy and the customer service throughout was wonderful.
Our daughter spent two weeks in Berlin, learning German and visiting the sights. She received an exceptional standard of teaching, with tasks out in the city and her spoken language came on dramatically. But, more than that, she got the opportunity to socialise with peers from across the world, negotiate tricky situations in a safe environment and learn social skills that will be so useful when she leaves home and heads to university next year. Blue Stamp were on hand throughout, checking all was ok, giving us a point of contact and providing help and reassurance for all of us, while our little girl was alone in a strange city overseas. I cannot recommend Blue Stamp highly enough. I was jealous throughout and I want to do this now!
