A Level French Revision

A Level Revision Course

This A Level Revision Course is a hybrid course of an Intensive Language Course and 1:1 lessons in classes with students, 16+ of mixed nationalities.

We design this course package to complement A Level French study and further deepen understanding of the language skills necessary to succeed at this standard and improve overall competence in French with specific, personalised areas of study delivered through extra modules and 1:1 lessons.

Please note: This course does not focus on a particular exam board or the UK A Level specifically (apart from in the 1:1 lessons). This course, is however, appropriate for students taking A Level, Leaving Cert, IB, Highers, Finals or similar.

These courses are available every Monday to Friday throughout the year with accommodation Sunday to Saturday.

Location

On the French-Belgium border, Lille was part of the County of Flanders. In today's times, it is a bustling university city with 17th-century brick town houses, cobbled pedestrian streets and the large central square, Grand Place. Lille was named the “City of Art and History” in 2004 and became the World Design Capital in 2020 through an innovative project: transforming its territory through design.

Lille is well connected to both Paris and London via the Eurostar making it a very convenient city to visit and ideal if you want to avoid flying.

School

Housed in a former consulate, the language school is a tight-knit community of likeminded language enthusiasts. The intimate classes provide personalised learning with experienced teachers. The teachers are passionate about their subject matter and are dedicated to helping their students succeed. The school sits in a university neighbourhood which is lively and full of young people. There are plenty of cafes, restaurants, and shops to explore, as well as cultural events and activities to participate in. It's the perfect location for language learners who want to immerse themselves in the local culture and practice their language skills outside of the classroom.

Language Course

Included in this price are 15 hours of group lessons which concentrate on learning and actively using French. You will participate in group sessions alongside other students of a similar level, with lessons focused on improving all aspects of the language; speaking listening, reading and writing. The tuition is very much practice oriented.

In addition to this you will have a 1-hour lesson focusing on pronunciation, 2 hours of grammar lessons and 4 hours of speaking lessons.

This course also includes 4 private lessons with a tutor across the week, the content of which can be determined by you.

This is a total of of 26, 1-hour lessons across each week.

You will be given an assessment on the first morning before lessons in order to place you in the group most suited to your ability level. Classes have an international flavour and a lively feel because they are grouped by ability not nationality or age.

Accommodation

For students wanting to completely immerse themselves in the French language and culture we recommend that you stay with one of our carefully selected French hosts.
