A Level Revision Course

These courses are available throughout the year starting every Monday. Students can travel for a week, two weeks or longer. We are able to tailor packages to suit your requirements and the time you have available.

Location

Studying French amongst the history, culture and cosmopolitan life of Paris is truly an experience to remember! The language school in Paris is spread across two separate centres both right in the heart of the city.

The first is situated in the midst of the Latin Quarter, opposite Notre Dame Cathedral, two minutes walking distance from the Sorbonne, the Pantheon and the Luxembourg garden in one of the liveliest and most culturally active neighbourhoods of the city. Balzac, Jean-Paul Sartre, Jacques Prévert, Serge Gainsbourg, are just some of the great artists and thinkers linked to this beautiful and unique area of Paris. The school's Notre-Dame neighbourhood offers extensive possibilities to discover Paris, learn its history, experience the French way of life and to become a true Parisian in this historical and fascinating district.

The second language school can be found in a beautiful town house in the Victor Hugo district. What better symbol for a great school than the author of Les Misérables and The Hunchback of Notre-Dame? Within walking distance of the Arc de Triomphe, the Champs-Élysées and the Trocadero Esplanade with its amazing view of the Eiffel Tower, our second school in Paris will welcome you in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere in a historic building full of charms.

Both schools offer a vibrant, young and dynamic atmosphere, and have various onsite student facilities such as a student lounge with drinks, snacks and vending machines, free WiFi access, computer area and private gardens. Each school offers a variety of different levels of class, and students will be allocated to a centre depending on the results of their level test and the courses being offered at each school for that week.

Language Course

The course includes 26 lessons per week; 20 general French lessons covering grammar, listening, speaking and vocabulary, with a further 6 specifically targeted workshops per week focusing on one element of the French language tailored to your requirements. Please note that on weeks with small numbers of students enrolled, it is possible that the exam preparation lessons may incorporate students of other nationalities also studying for similar style exams.

To enable students to focus on specific texts or specific areas of their French A Level skills, we include 6 extra 1:1 classes.

Please note that students must be at least 17 years old to join this course.

Optional Social and Cultural Programme

The school offers a range of activities during the week, such as a film club, meal out at a local restaurant and excursions to the many cultural and historic sights and venues in Paris. Some of the activities incur an extra cost (payable on the week of your stay directly to the school) however, many of the activities in Paris are free. All activities are optional.

Accommodation

For students wanting to completely immerse themselves in the French language and culture we recommend that you stay with one of our carefully selected French host families. They will not only introduce you to the French way of life and help you practise the French language but will also give you a taste of local and delicious regional specialities. The host families are situated near to the school and provide half board accommodation (breakfast & evening meal) from the Sunday before your course starts to the Saturday after it finishes. Subject to availability, an extra day on one side of your trip may be available on request to facilitate flight dates. A surcharge is payable for any extra nights.

You can read more about what it means to stay with a host family in our Host Family Guide.

Transfers

The school is easily accessible via Bordeaux’s excellent transport system and we are happy to provide details on request. We can also arrange private transfers for you from Bordeaux’s airport or train stations for a supplement.
