Germany | Berlin Adventure Summer Camp

German Summer Adventure Camp

For students aged 12–15 years, this course is a perfect combination of lessons and fun, combining formal classroom tuition with a varied programme of leisure activities, visits and excursions. Based on beautiful Lake Wolzig 30km south-east of Berlin, it introduces students to German culture, sports and life.

This course is available between 29/06/2025 and 03/08/2025. It runs from Sunday to Sunday.

Please note that the minimum stay is 2 weeks. If you would like to stay for 1 week please enquire about availability and prices before booking.

Location

The vibrant city of Berlin is a fantastic place to study. With its incredible history, architecture and lively café culture, you will never be short of something to do or somewhere to explore.

Our partner Language School in Berlin is privileged in its location within the Prenzlauer Berg district of Berlin, an area known for its popular Sunday flea market, the Mauerpark and young professional crowd. The school is a 5 minute walk from reliable tram links into the city centre along the M2 and M4 lines. While attending this language school you will not only receive quality German teaching but you will get an authentic taste of Berlin life.

Language Course

The language course comprises 20 lessons of 45 minutes length which concentrate on learning and actively using German. The school caters for students with a basic level of German to more advanced German speakers. The tuition is practice-oriented, so students participate in group sessions alongside other students of a similar level to improve all aspects of the language, including speaking and listening, reading and writing. There are four classes per day which take place during the morning. Outside lesson times there is a varied programme of leisure activities, visits and excursions to introduce students to German culture, sports and lifestyles.

Students take a written assessment before they travel and a speaking assessment on the first morning before lessons in order to place them in the group most suited to your ability level. Classes have an international flavour and a lively feel because they are grouped by ability not nationality.

Activity Programme

From Monday to Friday, the afternoon leisure program includes:

  • Water sports
  • Hiking
  • Swimming
  • BBQ’s
  • Mountain biking
  • Rock climbing

The evenings are an opportunity for dancing, films and campfires.

On Saturdays, campers go on excursions to locations such as Potsdam and the beautiful Sanssouci Palace, while Sundays are a chance to relax and go swimming or pack up and depart.

Accommodation

Host Accommodation

For students wanting to completely immerse themselves in the German language and culture we recommend that you stay with one of our carefully selected German hosts. They will not only introduce you to the German way of life and help you practise the German language but will also give you a taste of local and delicious regional specialities. Host Accommodation is situated in the Berlin area within good reach of the school by foot or U-bahn / S-bahn (underground/train).

Host Accommodation includes half-board catering (breakfast & evening meal) from the Sunday before your course starts to the Saturday after it finishes.

Subject to availability, an extra day on one side of your trip may be available on request to facilitate flight dates. A surcharge is payable for any extra nights.

You can read more about what it means to stay with a host in our Host Accommodation Guide.

* Please note that, unlike in France and Spain where families are vetted using the local equivalents of the UK DBS check, hosts in Germany are not required to undertake a police check. Hosts are stringently vetted by the accommodation officer attached to the language school and students’ reviews of hosts are used to inform the suitability of hosts for future use.
