Designed to complement the study of Spanish at A-level, our A-level Revision Courses offer intensive small-group and 1:1 teaching to improve students’ skills in using Spanish at an advanced level.
The group classes are tailored to students’ ability levels and cover general aspects of reading, writing, speaking and listening. Studying in groups of mixed nationalities and ages gives students a rich and immersive experience.
Additional 1:1 lessons allow students to specify in advance the syllabus topics they wish to cover. For example, they could focus on a set text, an aspect of speaking or points of grammar.
Please be aware that the A-level Revision Course is not designed around any one single examination board or specification. It is suitable for any student taking A-level, Leaving Certificate, Highers, Finals or similar examinations.
Nicknamed the Pearl of Andalucía, Seville is the fourth largest city in Spain and capital of the Andalusía region. Located in the south of Spain, the city sits on the Guadalquivir River and is one of the hottest regions in Spain due to its low elevation and proximity to the coast. After Barcelona and Marid, Seville is the most visited city in Spain by tourists drawn by its intricate Mudejar architecture including three UNESCO World Heritage sites: the Cathedral, Archivo de Indias and the Royal Alcazar.
Alongside picturesque buildings, Seville is home to a lively cultural life. The famous art form of flamenco originates in the Andalusía region and is still performed today in tablaos. Performances feature powerful guitar playing, expressive dancing and even singing! Traditionally, visitors will find that tapas plates are often complimentary with drinks purchased.
The school is right in the middle of Seville’s historic and very photogenic old town, close to the world’s largest gothic cathedral, and the Royal Alcázar.
Experienced native teachers and fantastic cultural program make it an attractive place to visit and study, whether for pleasure, business, or to obtain an official exam qualification.
The course includes 20 lessons taught across Monday to Friday mornings. In addition there are five 1:1 lessons in the afternoon, you can use these lessons to discuss any topics that you personally want to consolidate or extend, such as topics on your A-level or equivalent course.
Once your level of Spanish and class have been established you will be invited to purchase the text for your lessons at a cost of approximately €30. This will be available from the school on your first day.
The school offers a range of activities during the week, as well as longer full-day excursions at the weekends. These are available for a charge and you can book through reception during your stay. You will be introduced to the activities as part of your induction on your first day. These activities change weekly.
The school offers an award-winning programme with the chance to get creative at writing and cinema workshops, discover the history of Seville with expert guides on foot and by bike. Other experiences include Flamenco or Salasa shows and workshops or excursions to nearby areas such as Ronda and Granada. There are also opportunities to sample food and drink from the region and take part in season-specific local celebrations such as the April Fair and Holy Week. There really is something for everyone.
