Designed to complement the study of Spanish at A-level, our A-level Revision Courses offer intensive small-group and 1:1 teaching to improve students’ skills in using Spanish at an advanced level.
The group classes are tailored to students’ ability levels and cover general aspects of reading, writing, speaking and listening. Studying in groups of mixed nationalities and ages gives students a rich and immersive experience while in Spain.
Additional 1:1 lessons allow students to specify in advance the syllabus topics they wish to cover. For example, they could focus on a set text, an aspect of speaking or points of grammar.
Please be aware that the A-level Revision Course is not designed around any one single examination board or specification. It is suitable for any student taking A-level, Leaving Certificate, Highers, Finals or similar examinations.
Valencia, Spain’s third largest city, sits on the country’s Mediterranean coast. The beautiful Spanish language school is tucked away deep in the heart of the old town, just a few steps away from the city’s beautiful sights and essential services. The four storey former palace has been carefully renovated into a stunning building where modernism complements history. Inside the school, walls from the original 11th Century Arab building are visible in the classrooms and open spaces, creating an atmosphere of history and mystique.
The 28 classrooms are filled with natural light, and are equipped with air-conditioning and interactive whiteboards. If studying in a stunning location rich in history isn’t enough, students can also make the most of the relaxed, well equipped social spaces during break times. They can use the computers and wifi, enjoy the reading area with books and magazines, relax on one of the two patios or bask in the sunshine on the breathtaking roof terrace, complete with sun loungers, fruit trees and a shower to cool off.
The course is split into 3 components.
1. The core course component of 20 lessons concentrates on learning and actively using Spanish through practice-oriented tuition. During the mornings students participate in group sessions with other students of a similar level, with lessons focused on improving all aspects of the language.
2. The second component comprises five lessons. Students choose between five Spanish Life and Culture or five Grammar Skills classes. We ask for the choice of option before the trip.
3. The third component is an additional five 1:1 classes throughout the week on students’ individual choices of topics. Before travelling, students specify what they would like to cover with their tutor during these sessions. For example, they could focus on grammar, a specific thematic topic, conversation or exam practice.
Please note: with the exception of the 1:1 classes, this course does not focus on a particular exam board or specification. It is appropriate for students taking any Spanish A-level, Leaving Cert, IB, Finals or similar.
The school offers a range of activities during the week, as well as longer full day excursions at the weekends. These are available for a charge and can be booked through reception during your stay. Activities are introduced as part of induction on your first day. These activities change weekly but include the following:
For students wanting to immerse themselves in the Spanish language and culture we recommend a stay in host accommodation with one of our carefully selected Spanish hosts. They not only introduce the Spanish way of life and help practise the Spanish language, but also give a taste of local and delicious regional specialities. Host accommodation is situated within 45 minutes’ journey time of the school. Half-board accommodation is provided (breakfast & evening meal) from the Sunday before the course starts to the Saturday after it finishes. Subject to availability, an extra day on one end of the trip may be available on request to facilitate flight dates.
Students aged 17 or older also have the option of staying in one of the school’s self catering residences with other international students; single rooms are available. Students can also choose a single room in a shared apartment with other students from the language school, with communal bathroom and kitchen .

Spanish school was great to experience. Every member of staff at the school had a smile on their face, no matter what they were doing or who they were speaking to. My first morning lessons were held by Alessandro who made everything very clear to understand and enjoyable too! My second session in the day was held by Paula who was so enthusiastic to teach Spanish as well as about all the students in the class.
